SAY HELLO TO CARTER!

Hi, my name is Carter and I’m looking for a fun family to call my own. I need a family that has a fenced in yard to keep me safe because I have so much fun racing around and taking in all of the sights and sounds. I really love barking, barking, barking at all of the exciting things outside – especially the cats that walk by my yard! I enjoy having other dog playmates and have even lived with some farm animals but I do get a thrill out of chasing geese and cats might also be too tempting for me, so let’s keep them out of this picture please. Kids are fun but when they make a lot of noise I get a little confused and scared, so I’d be much happier if my family didn’t have any small children. I try my hardest to be a good boy in the house; I never have any accidents and I don’t help myself to anything on the counters but sometimes when I get a little bored my mouth accidentally finds a sock or shoe or something else my foster mom says is inappropriate. I promise to work hard on this if my family makes sure I get enough attention and lots of exercise. I’m ready to settle into a permanent home and I would love to meet you! If you think you could be my forever family, please make sure you read the note from my foster family so we can decide if you might be a good match for me.

A note from Carter’s foster family: Carter is an albino Doberman and we recommend that his potential family does some research before applying to adopt. This sweet boy came to us when his mom was very suddenly diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and given a very poor prognosis. Carter was understandably confused and took some time to adjust to his new environment but is doing well and ready to find his forever home. We estimate him to be about 2-3 years old; content to snuggle up but also delighted to run and play. He’s a bit mouthy when excited and will grab you by the hand to let you know he wants to play. This boy is incredibly sweet and playful but a bit timid. He is friendly with all people he has met and is the perfect balance of being watchful yet happy to allow visitors through the door. Carter is gentle with kids but nervous with loud noises from children. Visiting children are acceptable but due to his stress from loud noises, and his difficulty adjusting to new environments, a home with small children will not be suitable even though he seems to enjoy their company otherwise. This handsome Dober could use some leash work but has great manners otherwise. Please be aware that his home will be required to have a traditional fence (invisible fencing will not be considered). If you’re looking for a fun young boy with a great personality, Carter is the guy for you!
