Heart worm Positive
Rio is a three year old red boy that spent 6 long months cooped up in a shelter. When the shelter responded to a big hoarding case, Rio was moved to the top of the euthanasia list. That's when we got the call to help him. We knew from the beginning that Rio was heart worm positive, but that didn't deter us. This boy deserved a chance to live his best life and we were going to give that to him. Rio has successfully completed his heartworm treatments. He takes two inexpensive medications, thyroid and prozac, which has almost completely curb his flank sucking. Rio has not been exposed to much of the world we are finding out and while he can be very chill in the home when he sees activity outside he is very vocal and gets overly excited. He will probably do best in a quiet country setting. Rio does well with other dogs, and he sure does love the ladies! He's also just fine just hanging by your side and doing whatever you are doing. Rio will need a home with a physical fence where he can play safely and not run off. He is a smart boy, and will benefit greatly from obedience training to help him reach his full potential. Rio is ready to choose his forever family. Is it yours? Apply today! www.DUdobes.org
