heart worm positive/not neutured
Sterling is a big, sweet 6 year old blue boy. He lived his entire life as an "outdoor" dog with another male. Both intact at the time, Sterling appears to have been bullied by the other male. Sterling arrived at the shelter very skinny and with a patchy coat. Worst of all, he was Heartworm Positive. Doberman Underground didn't hesitate to take him once we got the call. After moving to a new foster home to care for him during his heartworm treatment, he was initially very shy around his new foster pack. He is starting to decompress and his winning personality is beginning to shine through. This affectionate boy just loves to snuggle. He'll sneak up and goose you from behind to get your attention. He's very interested in seeing what's on the table for dinner. While he has not chewed anything, he sure does love to shake his blanket around playfully. Sterling surrendered his man card and recovered nicely from his neuter. He's now finishing his pre-treatment and will begin his heartworm treatment at the end of February. This will be his greatest challenge, as the treatments are painful as the medicine works to kill the heartworms. Please consider a donation to help us pay for the cost of his treatment. http://dudobes.org/donations/donations/ More about SterlingGood with Dogs, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults, Somewhat vocal, Does Good in the Car, Requires a yard, Cratetrained, Obedient, Playful, Timid, Affectionate, Eager To Please, Intelligent, Even-tempered, Gentle
