Winnie is estimated to be 5 years old and from her DNA test she is a mixture of Australian Shepard, Boxer, chow with a sprinkle of Dalmatian.  Running as a stray, she ended up in a shelter and was not only pregnant, but also heartworm positive.  She was immediately slated for euthanasia.  When the shelter called us, we came running to save her.  It was determine that with Stage 1 heartworm, Winnie was able to safely have her puppies before starting treatment. All 8 of her adorable puppies are in wonderful forever homes and it's finally time for Winnie to find her forever family. 

Winnie's foster mom says she is a once in a lifetime dog.  As soon as you meet her, you know there is something very special about her.  Winnie has a quiet wisdom about her, and is very confident. She's an escape artist and you can outsmart her!  She has done very well at her foster home and will require a house with a door that opens into a yard with a physical fence to keep her from running off.   

Winnie needs to be the only dog in a home as she is much too picky about other companions in the house.  Older children only.  She rides well in the car and is absolutely fearless!  This girl is oh so soft and fluffy...you will totally love petting her and she is learning what a good feeling that is. She's a super love bug and very well behaved in the home.  She can be a couch potato one minute and then be a great hiking companion the next.
