Truman is a handsome 2-year old, a typical red boy that will steal your heart as soon as you meet him.  He bonds with his people very quickly and gets super attached right away.  His owners had to re-home him  to a friend when their job situations changed.  When they did a follow-up visit, they found him limping and were told he had been hit by a car.  They immediately took him back.  Their vet estimated $3,000 to amputate his leg and told them his quality of life would not be good with a missing front leg, so they reached out to rescue. 

Truman went right to our vet who determined the leg is not broken and does not need to be amputated.  However, it is badly sprained and will take a couple of months to heal. He walks on it and plays, but he'll require a smart owner who knows how much to let him do on that leg while the sprain is healing.  He currently takes Galliprant to manage the pain as it heals. 

Truman is a great all around dog.  He's a bit timid meeting new people, but as he settles in and becomes more comfortable he will be a confident boy.  He is a vocal boy, so you'll never need to wonder if someone is approaching your home!  He loves to ride in the car and does well with kids.  Truman is good with cats and dogs of all sizes and genders.  He'll need a physical or underground fence to play safely in the yard.
