Rocko is a sweet, 8 year old boy whose humans failed him, dumping him at a shelter. Doberman Underground to the rescue! We don't know much about his past, but we certainly know about his future...which has him adopted by a loving family that will give him the spoiling he deserves! Wonderful house manners is one of the things you will love about Rocko. He's a perfect gentleman! This incredible boy seems to know he landed on easy street and is loving life in his foster home. He's very chill and mellow, but he will also bark and pretend he's a guard dog when needed. Visitors beware - you will quickly have a 95 pound Doberman attached to your side waiting for you to pet him. Enter at your own risk! Not only is Rocko loveable, but he's smart, too! He knows several commands - sit, stay, lay down, crate and paw! He takes inexpensive thyroid medicine to keep him healthy. He has arthritis in his spine, so his gait is a little wonky. He can go up and down stairs, he runs and plays normally, he just sits a little more often to rest. He can take Gabapentin when needed, but is not taking it all the time. Doberman Underground has the Phoenix Fund to help adopters pay for ongoing medication he takes. This laid back boy loves to play, and will need a yard with a physical fence. He loves going for car rides but may need a little help getting in. Thunderstorms and fireworks are very scary to Rocko, so he'll be extra velcro during those times. Rocko is good with kids, but the commotion of small children would be too much for him to to live with 24/7. Kids 10 & older would be just fine. He likes other dogs, but if you like your cat, he's not for you. Rocko is available to pre-approved adopters that are a good match for his needs. He also qualifies for SOS (Seniors Owning Seniors), which is a program designed for senior humans that have experience owning Dobermans but may not longer be able to afford the expense of owning a senior dog on a fixed income.
