Eve was found as a stray in the freezing cold weather, hungry and oh so skinny. It's amazing she even survived. Eve is a youngster, about a year old. She had what appeared to be an old injury to her back leg. The shelter thought she was a Doberman and contacted us immediately and we sprung her on New Years Eve! Turns out Eve is actually a No-berman...mostly Black and Tan Coonhound and a sweet blend of hounds, with the most gorgeous, silky ears you've ever seen! Once she was safe and had a full belly, we were able to get scans of her leg and consulted with orthopedic experts. Sadly, her leg could not be saved, but Eve doesn't let being a tripod slow her down at all! Eve may not be a Doberman, but she sure does have a lot of Doberman traits! She loves everyone she meets and just wants to be with her people. She can be shy at first, but she is very affectionate. Her foster mom says she is gentle, easy going and eager to please! She's good with dogs of all sizes. She has not been tested with cats or kids, but older kids should be fine. After being starved and hungry, she's understandably a little protective of her food but she's doing a great job of working through that. Eve is crate trained and walks well on a leash. She loves going for walks but also likes to curl up for good naps. She is crate trained and rides well in the car. Eve loves toys but squeakers are too scary. So is the vacuum! She walks best on carpet or area rugs as she can sometimes slide on laminate flooring which startles her. Eve does not like to potty on leash so she will need a fenced yard.
