Dorothy was found as a stray running with another Doberman that could be her mother or sister.  Both girls were in need of rescue to be sure they found the right homes.

Dorothy has settled into her foster home very nicely and she is learning from her foster sibling how to be a dog.  She is overwhelmed with happiness whenever it's time to play.  She can hardly contain herself with excitement, bouncing around with her adorable uncoordinated body, legs going every which way.  Toys are a new found delight, especially plush toys with squeakers!

Need protection from small critters?  She'll keep your yard free of them!  She'll need a physical fence to keep her from running off during the chase.  She is curious about cats and will sniff them gently then moves on to play with her humans or canine sibling.  Dorothy does not like loud dogs.  She is hesitant at first when meeting new dogs.  Once she gets acquainted, she wants to play, play, play and then she sleeps, sleeps, sleeps.   Quiet, large dogs are perfect companions for her.   She does not seem to like small dogs, but does well when re-directed moving past them while out on walks.

Dorothy's perfect family would have someone working from home or home most of the day.  She does like to nap a lot, but gets a bit stressed when left alone.  Her foster mom says Dorothy is very well mannered.  She's house broken, crate trained and sleeps all night if her humans are in site. Nail trims are a breeze!

Are you an experienced Doberman owner looking for the perfect young companion?  A smart dog that learns quickly and loves training?  Ready to have a velcro girl that thrives on love and affection?  If the answer is yes, apply today at www.DUdobes.org
