Roo A Year in the Life of Roo 8/18 - 8/19 Roo had a series of highs and lows this past year as did we all. We lost a foster dog, Snoop on New Years Eve, then we started fostering Cody, a blind, diabetic, emaciated senior in February. Little did we know that Roo found his BFF or that their bromance would give us so many laughs, or âÂÂawwâ moments. RooâÂÂs love of snuggling continues to grow as evidenced by this wonderful photo of dad and Roo. And his love of cheese gave us this awesome photo of Roo and Cody, the biped and the blind, sitting pretty for daddy. We spent the summer with Gracie as she battled cancer and heart disease, and our beautiful, empathetic, gentle Roo snuggled with her and tenderly groomed her as she slowly lost her battle. He stayed close to her, loving her, and showing us a side we didnâÂÂt know this irrepressible, energetic scamp had in him. We had to let Gracie go in August and all three boys grieved her loss with us. But they soon rallied and have helped Mike and me find our laughter and joy again. Probably the biggest change for Roo has been his cart. HeâÂÂs still slow in it, but after an adjustment to account for his growth, and the addition of tip wheels and an outrigger to the cart, he has learned that heâÂÂs more stable and has decided the cart is okay by him. We still havenâÂÂt seen him run; he may be one of those dogs who never gets there, which can happen in particular with tall dogs in front wheel chairs, but we still have hope. One thing continues to be true: we love this boy with all our hearts! He is smart, and silly, and full of life; nothing gets him down. He is joy and resilience personified and we continue to be thankful that you all allowed us to adopt him. Thank you from all of the Nuccio clan!
Raven-puppy Hello! Raven is just awesome! Growing into a big boy. We took him to the vetâÃÂÃÂs office Tuesday to get a weight on him. HeâÃÂÃÂs 90#! HeâÃÂÃÂs so smart & just a wonderful boy. Yes, we finished obedience classes back in June. He loved class. He enjoys going to PetSmart, LoweâÃÂÃÂs, Home Depot & Tractor Supply, meeting people & getting biscuits. Loves car rides. We go on daily walks, which he adores. He & Spencer, our Boston Terrier are best buds. We love Raven so much & feel really lucky to have gotten to adopt this magnificent dog
Ruby Rose Hello! We renamed her âTiffanyâ because I love Tiffany and Company so her collar says it all. Maybe one day you will find her the perfect âCompanyâ that would compliment her demeanor. We are just so happy, she is the perfect match for our home! She is finally playing with toys now and she doesnât even tear them up. She loves us both but she is a Daddyâs girl when he is in the room! We have fencing up for her to run free now and she just enjoys her time out in the yard. She does not have a prey drive so she just sits on the deck watching birds and squirrels. She is so loving and is a velcro dobergirl especially when one of us sits on the couch. Tiffany has such good manners except for one time when Daddy left two ribeye steaks on the counter from the grocery store. She couldnât help herself as the temptation was far too great not to eat them raw! LOL Note to self: Donât leave groceries unattended while bringing them in from the car! Well she deserved them at any rate after everything she has been through. Daddy scrabbles 2 eggs every morning with her kibble and she looks forward to each feeding since Mommy gives her wet food for dinner. We are giving her foods with omega 3âs and 6âs to help her coat. She is looking better but we still need to work on improving it. Mommy spoils her rotten as she is the baby of the household. We have gotten many Chewy boxes in the mail and for some reason she just knows there is something new for her! She has her own toy purse and bra from Lisa Vanderpump pets! She likes the squeak sounds and we find toys all over. I put them back in her toy bin and she takes them back out. She lays with her monkey but she carries her blue bunny up and down the steps wherever she decides to lay down at. You just never know where you will see the bunny next! Our grandchildren adore her and she is so good with them. They lay down with her and she just relaxes and lets them be. Tiffany likes to run outside so none of us can keep up with her. She is becoming more active now, the first week she was so exhausted from all the travel/transport, she just slept in her bed and ate. She is not voice tress unless another dog sniffâs her, she is a lady and does not like that! LOL We look forward to coming home every day as she is just so excited when we enter the door she is there waiting. She is doing so well and I canât imagine how we ever lived without her in our lives. She brings us such joy and we are so happy to have gotten this baby girl! Thanks so much, Crissy and Bill J
Raven-puppy Hello! They say time flies when youâre having fun, so that must be why the 3 & 1/2 months have zoomed by since Raven came to us. What can I say? He is awesome & wonderful & loving & funny & so stinking smart. We go on a couple walks daily, which he loves. Raven is in an obedience class now & loves every dog & person he meets. He loves car rides & growing so fast. He had a vet appointment this past Tuesday for the second part of his flu shot & weighs 61.8#. He will be neutered on May 16. How can he possibly be old enough for that!?! We love him so much & are so grateful to have found the Doberman Underground! I will send some pics. In a separate email. Debra LeMasters
Radar Hi! Radar is doing great! He has been a perfect addition to our family. We feel so blessed. Weâve been working on his socializing but it is a work in progress. He flunked out of doggie daycare. Just too much noise and activity. Thatâs ok cause heâs just as happy hanging out at home with Lilly. He has finally started wagging his tail and while he doesnât give kisses, he will put his nose up close like heâs getting ready to. He is a sweetheart and we love him lots.
