She's doing wonderfully! I am newly retired and Mimi is my constant companion. I take her with me everywhere I possibly can. Plus, we take walks daily, and often hike in the woods. We completed basic obedience and also tricks class. We are signing up for a scent training class sometime this year and super excited about that. I gave her a bath today, and told Debbie that I would try to take some pics of her tomorrow. (I send photos of Mimi regularly to Debbie and Joe Smole, her first foster family before I took her in as a medical foster.) It was a tough go for the poor girl the first couple months, she had a tumor in her spleen the size of a baseball. As a medical foster, recovering from kennel cough, the docs wanted her to put on some more weight before she was healthy enough to spay, but of course mother nature kicked in and she went into heat so surgeries were delayed for another month. We knew there was some sort of growth near her ovary from an ultra sound done up north and my Vet did an x-ray as well, but it came as shock when the Vet found the vascular tumor with a hard shell in her spleen which could have burst at any second. So she had her spleen removed, a hysterectomy, one tit removed (boob job), and two large bedsores on her behind (butt job) removed in one swoop. I spent a couple thousand dollars trying to figure out an terrible allergy she has which caused her to itch, lose her hair, eye discharge, dander like a winter storm, and it turns out she is allergic to sycamore trees (which are all over my area). She's currently in the midst of a year long course of allergy treatment drops for that, she also takes over the counter meds prescribed by her Vet at Mad River Hospital in Springfield Ohio for relief from the symptoms which has really helped. I took her to Doberfest last year, but sadly will not be going this year do to the driving distance. I will post an updated photo of her sometime this week on the volunteer page. P.S. she is a total bed hog and will still counter surf when I'm in the shower or out mowing the lawn. LOL Sincerely, Deb Simon and Mimi
